Different Types of Moms :: Which One Are You?

Error, group does not exist! Check your syntax! (ID: 4)

There are many types of moms and they deserve their own accolades. Here’s a few of my favorites:

Welcome, super smoothie guzzling, yoga pants wearing, jogging stroller mom. You eat, breathe, and live fitness. I am in awe of your stamina and drive, especially with little ones underfoot. Your workout energizes you and relieves stress too. One day, I too, will join your ambitious crew.

Hello, super earthy, composting, chicken raising, gardening guru! How do you get your tomatoes to grow so well? Your green thumb and green lifestyle is a big commitment to our planet and we thank you. Thanks for teaching our kids to take care of their planet too!

A round of applause for the stay-at-home carpooling, play date hosting, meal planning mama. Can you cook up an extra dish for me? Because frankly, I don’t have a clue what to cook for dinner tonight, or tomorrow night, or the next!

Can we take a selfie? Miss party planning, social networking sister, we all want to be invited to your next shindig. You’re the hostess with the mostess. Put us on your guest list please! How do you find the time? And where did you get those fabulous shoes? Thanks for reminding us that moms can have a social life too!

Wave hi to my school helping, paper grading, field trip chaperoning champion. When will they give you your own parking spot at school? You practically live there! How many papers have you graded? More importantly, how do you get through those noisy field trip rides on the school bus? Oh, and I promise I’ll be at the next PTA meeting. When is it again?

Let’s give a big cheer to our cookie selling, fundraising, soccer coaching ladies! Here’s a big high five for all that hard work and time devoted to your group. We appreciate you. And we’re sorry we forgot to bring snack this week.

Maybe it does take a village to raise a child. Maybe you’re like me, a mix of all of these kinds of moms. One thing is for sure, I am grateful and inspired by all of these moms. Keep up the good work! Remember your kids are watching you. They will learn and benefit from seeing your devotion to it all.

Andrea Jacquin

Andrea was born and raised in New Mexico. She loves Albuquerque's beautiful mountains, gorgeous blue skies and Balloon Fiesta! She is the mom of an 11-year-old Lego master builder, a couch and cabinet climbing 2 year-old and a spunky, sugar loving nine-year-old girl. Her biggest parenting strength is her ability to never grow up just like Peter Pan. How could she possibly grow up? She's still holding out for that easy bake oven she never got!
