It’s that time of year again. Time to bust out the Elf on the Shelf! Otherwise known as that time of year when mothers ask themselves why they drank the Kool-Aid and jumped on the Elf bandwagon. Don’t worry, though. This isn’t your typical Elf on the Shelf post. I’m not going to share naughty or mischievous elf poses. There are plenty of those posts available on the Internet already. This post is about fun activities your elf can bring for your family to enjoy together.
Indoor Snowball Fight
You can purchase these super soft indoor snowballs at most popular retail stores. This activity is guaranteed to be a blast for the whole family. What child (or parent) wouldn’t love to accidentally-on-purpose peg their loved one in the face?
Game Night
The Elf on the Shelf knows that the family that plays together stays together. Have your elf bring some new games for the family to bond over.
Bake Cookies
Who doesn’t like cookies in all their sugary splendor? Have your elf bring some frosting, sprinkles, and cookies, then make some delicious memories . . . and cookies.
Arts and Crafts
Have your elf foster your child’s creativity with an arts or crafts activity. You could make something messy, like holiday slime, or something simple such as a coloring book.
There you have it. Four simple ideas to help bring a little fun and family togetherness to this year’s holiday celebration. (It’s also four fewer ideas you will have to Google later when you’re stressing out about how to pose your elf *wink wink*.)
